Today marks the official beginning of saaslylab.com, my personal archive for documenting the rapidly evolving world of technology and my journey as a father.
Setting up a self-hosted WordPress site wasn’t as simple as I expected. I purchased my domain from Namecheap and chose Bluehost as my hosting provider. Connecting the two required navigating through DNS settings and updating nameservers, which was a bit overwhelming at first.
However, after carefully pointing the Namecheap domain to Bluehost’s servers, my “Online Lab” is finally live. I plan to share a detailed step-by-step guide on this WordPress setup process soon to help other beginners.
In Lab 01 (Tech & Review), I will be reviewing SaaS productivity tools and useful tech gadgets from the perspective of a 40-year-old dad. I believe technology should ultimately serve people and make our family life more convenient.

나만의 온라인 연구소, 사슬리랩(saaslylab.com)의 첫 삽을 뜨다 (feat. 블루호스트 입성기)
아이들이 커가는 모습, 그리고 하루가 다르게 변하는 테크 세상을 보며 ‘나만의 기록 공간’ 하나쯤은 꼭 있어야겠다는 생각이 들었습니다. 그렇게 오늘, 큰맘 먹고 saaslylab.com이라는 이름으로 워드프레스 블로그를 시작했습니다.
사실 시작부터 쉽지는 않았습니다. 도메인은 해외 사이트인 네임칩(Namecheap)에서 사고, 집(호스팅)은 블루호스트(Bluehost)에 지었는데, 이 둘을 연결하려니 영어 메일도 오고 설정법도 낯설더군요. ‘네임서버’니 ‘DNS’니 하는 용어들 사이에서 땀 좀 뺐습니다.
결국 해결책은 의외로 간단했습니다. 네임칩 관리 화면에서 블루호스트가 알려준 주소들을 차근차근 입력하고 나니, 드디어 제 도메인으로 번듯한 사이트가 열렸습니다. 혹시 저처럼 처음 시작하며 당황하실 분들을 위해 제가 겪은 과정을 조만간 기록으로 남겨두려 합니다.
이곳 Lab 01 연구실에서는 제가 업무용으로 써보고 좋았던 소프트웨어나, 아빠로서 눈여겨본 유용한 기기(Gadget)들을 제 시선으로 담백하게 리뷰해보려 합니다.
기술은 결국 사람을 위한 것이고, 우리 가족의 삶을 더 편리하게 만들어주는 도구여야 하니까요. 40대 아빠의 시선으로 본 솔직한 테크 이야기, 이제 시작합니다.
